The Employee and Organisational Conduct (E&OC) Team is looking for a (Senior) Compliance Officer who combines a risk-based mindset with a data-native, automation-first approach and the confidence to use AI responsibly. In this role, you will translate complex requirements into scalable controls and provide actionable insights, ensuring effective implementation across ING. We are specifically looking for someone who can connect compliance, data, technology and delivery, and drive meaningful change.
The team
You will join a team of Employee and Organisational Conduct experts from diverse backgrounds who focus on topics such as the Global Code of Conduct, Anti-Competitive Conduct, Conflicts of Interest and Whistleblowing. The team operates in a large and varied stakeholder environment and plays an important role in anticipating developments within Compliance, ING and the external environment.
Roles and responsibilities
In this role you will:
Drive and support risk-based E&OC compliance risk management in close collaboration with colleagues in Compliance, other risk functions and the first line of defence.
Translate E&OC requirements and risks into data attributes, indicators, dashboards and decision-ready insights.
Assess data quality and clearly communicate data limitations and implications.
Identify and deliver opportunities to simplify and automate risk management activities using a risk-based approach.
Explore and apply AI-supported ways of working, including use case definition, risk assessments and implementation.
Lead defined change initiatives from problem statement through to implementation.
Advise and challenge senior stakeholders on E&OC risks and communicate complex issues in clear language.
Monitor regulatory, business and reputational developments and translate these into prioritised, risk-based actions and requirements.
Anticipate stakeholder needs, build support throughout implementation journeys and adapt communication to different audiences.
Enhance team capabilities by sharing methods, coaching colleagues and creating reusable guidance for data-driven and technology-enabled compliance.
How to succeed
We hire smart people like you for your potential. Our biggest expectation is that you’ll stay curious. Keep learning. Take on responsibility. In return, we’ll back you to develop into an even more awesome version of yourself.
You operate independently on complex assignments and take accountability for delivery and follow-up.
You use data to prioritise risks and enable effective risk-based decision making.
You can translate compliance risks into meaningful data attributes, insights and recommendations.
You actively identify opportunities to simplify processes and deliver pragmatic improvements that align with risk appetite.
You have practical experience with data analysis, AI-enabled solutions and/or project management and change implementation.
You can define AI use cases, coordinate risk assessments and promote responsible AI adoption within a regulated environment.
You can independently manage projects or workstreams while balancing quality, timelines and stakeholder expectations.
You build trust with stakeholders and use persuasive communication skills to support decision-making and execution.
You can interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies and standards, or quickly learn new regulatory domains and translate them into practical risk management.
You have a Master's degree or equivalent level of education and excellent written and spoken English. Experience with employee or organisational conduct risk is valuable but not required.
